Client in Winnetka, Illinois is seeking a talented and experienced Private Chef to join their household team. The Private Chef is responsible for creating delicious and nutritious meals for family of two. This role requires culinary expertise, creativity, and a passion for providing exceptional dining experiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and prepare meals for the family two days per week – Prepare meals for other days of the week, including lunches/snacks.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and work area.
  • Create customized meal plans and menus based on dietary preferences and restrictions.
  • Ensure meals are well-balanced, flavorful, and visually appealing.
  • Source high-quality ingredients and maintain a well-stocked pantry.
  • Accommodate special requests and dietary needs of family members.
  • Prepare meals for other days of the week, including lunches and snacks, through meal prep.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and work area.
  • Collaborate with other Household staff to coordinate meal schedules and events.
  • Stay updated with current culinary trends and techniques.
  • Provide recommendations and suggestions for new dishes and culinary experiences.
  • Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Assist with grocery shopping and inventory management.

Requirements:

  • Experience as a Private Chef or similar role.
  • Culinary degree or relevant certification preferred.
  • Strong culinary skills and knowledge of various cuisines.
  • Creativity and ability to develop unique and innovative dishes.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Positive energy and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
  • Comfortable working in a smoke-free environment.

Schedule and Compensation:
– The position is part-time, requiring approximately 10-12 hours per week.
– The ideal schedule is Mondays and Wednesdays OR Tuesdays and Thursdays, flexible between 11:00am – 6:00pm.
– The gross salary range is $80.00 – $100.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.
– The position offers 10 paid sick/personal days and negotiable vacation days and paid holidays.
– Mileage reimbursement is provided for work-related driving.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must be at least 21 years old.
Related work experience is required along with verifiable references. Candidates may have a broad range of experience, but it MUST pertain to the position you are applying for. We require at least 2-3 verifiable references. Letters of recommendation from previous employers are preferred.
A driver’s license is required for most positions and a motor vehicle investigation is completed prior to placement.
A criminal background investigation is completed on all candidates prior to placement.
All candidates must furnish proof of US citizenship or eligibility to work as a legal alien.
Typically, candidates must be willing to commit for at least 1 year with a family. Occasionally, temporary and summer placements are requested.
