A retired, North Shore couple in Winnetka, Illinois, is seeking a part-time, experienced, Companion Care Assistant. One Principal has a condition which contributes to loss of balance/stability, and is in a wheelchair 95% of the time. A system of ramps have been installed in their home to ease mobility. The other Principal is independent and enjoys gardening, yoga and walking with friends.

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 12:00pm with occasional evening hours. 25 hours/week guaranteed. Open to flexibility regarding hours.

They describe their ideal candidate as: experienced with home health care, able to ensure Principal can get around the home safely and participate in life as fully as possible. Assist with home exercise/physical therapy routine.  A cheerful Companion that provides encouraging/motivational conversation and is physically strong enough to assist with 220 lb. Principal.

The duties include: assist with showering, dressing, toileting, meal prep/meals, driving to appointments, errands and outings (vehicle provided).

Compensation: $25.00 – $35.00/hour. ($32,500 – $45,500 gross annual) with $350.00 monthly Health/Wellness stipend. (Additional $4200.00 net annual)

Required Qualifications

Candidates must be at least 21 years old.
Related work experience is required along with verifiable references. Candidates may have a broad range of experience, but it MUST pertain to the position you are applying for. We require at least 2-3 verifiable references. Letters of recommendation from previous employers are preferred.
A driver’s license is required for most positions and a motor vehicle investigation is completed prior to placement.
A criminal background investigation is completed on all candidates prior to placement.
All candidates must furnish proof of US citizenship or eligibility to work as a legal alien.
Typically, candidates must be willing to commit for at least 1 year with a family. Occasionally, temporary and summer placements are requested.
