Lovely Bay Area family is seeking two mature, warm, caring, professional Rotational Nannies for their 2 year old son

Ideal candidates will be highly experienced, confident, and knowledgeable.  Must be willing and able to travel with the family when needed. This down-to-earth and worldly family values work-life balance and are eager to welcome a rotational nanny team of two to their home who can be a beam of support in their home.

The schedule is:

  • Full-time: 24 hour coverage/7 day week. The Nanny can anticipate working 12 hours per day and in addition to being available for overnight care if required. However, the maximum amount of hours per week shall not exceed 168 on-duty hours
  • Schedule: Rotational 7 days on/ 7 days off schedule
  • Live In during shift. Family provides a 1-bedroom suite with bathroom within home, but within 6 months the pool house will be completed into a beautiful, separate studio apartment with kitchenette for the Nanny to stay in during the 7 days on. 
  • Live Out during 7 days off
  • If a candidate is not local they MUST be willing to relocate within 1 hour of the Bay Area. No commuters.. they do not want people flying in and out each week. Live out accommodations are not provided, so candidates need to do their research before interviewing to confirm they are able to move to CA within the parameters.

This position is ideal for a candidate who considers themselves a self-starter and prides themselves on hitting the ground running in their role as a Professional Nanny! A deep sense of step in and step out intuition will be important, along with an ability to adapt to the family’s needs. Candidates with recent infant/toddler experience will be prioritized. A nanny who is a team player with excellent communication skills to work alongside Co-Nanny and parents will thrive in this role. Ability to work with multiple children required. Candidates should have the ability to multi-task, be able to accommodate the changing schedules of the family and always remain positive and calm. Children are the number one priority with safety and security being paramount.  The family surrounds themselves with wonderful people, they expect that all of their staff will represent them accordingly.  The family favors discretion at all times as well as highly valuing confidentiality.  It is important to keep their privacy honored at all times.

Responsibilities:

  • Feeding, bathing, changing diapers, playing, and offering comfort when needed
  • Preparing meals/snacks, and cleaning up after sons meals and activities
  • Prioritizing the child’s safety, development, and comfort at all times
  • Create a stimulating, nurturing, and safe environment for the child
  • Basic Safety and Security training (first aid training, child and infant CPR, etc.)
  • Supervise the child’s activities at all times: home play and organized play
  • Support family during local visits to friends’ homes, restaurants, events and other family activities
  • Plan, supervise, and maintain rest, bed and nap times, assist with sleep training
  • Assist with bedtime routine including bathing, dressing, reading, and putting the child down when parents are not available
  • Ensure proper room temperature and bedding for child 
  • Monitor resting hours by watching and listening for the baby monitor and responding to the child as appropriate
  • Help soothe child if woken during rest by methods determined by the parents
  • Ensure feeding supplies are clean: bottles, bibs, utensils; feeding the child
  • Dress child appropriately for activities
  • Communicate child’s behaviors to parents and agree on consistent parenting philosophies
  • Organize child’s bedroom and play areas ensuring proper sanitation
  • Perform light housework related to childcare: clean up after meals, tidy bedroom/play areas & laundry
  • Maintain lists of supplies needed to purchase (food, clothes, toys, etc)
  • Maintain an organized diaper bag stocked with items the child frequently uses or needs
  • Informing and teaching the parents where applicable
  • Help foster childhood learning (i.e. learning to read, walk, talk, etc.)
  • Other duties as assigned by the family

 Qualifications:

  • Verifiable, long-term experience working with young infants & toddlers, long term intent
  • Knowledge of general first aid and CPR certification
  • Strong swimming skills 
  • Willingness to mirror the family’s COVID-19 safety protocols
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • Must have reliable personal vehicle to get back and forth to work, though a family car will be provided for driving the child during working hours
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Must be willing to sign an NDA and submit to an in-depth background check
  • Must be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing less than or equal to 35 pounds without assistance

Compensation/Benefits:

  • $100-120k annual salary, depending on experience

  • Paid holidays: We can divide up the holidays between the 2 rotational nannies based on individual preference, such that we will have coverage across holidays.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must be at least 21 years old.
Related work experience is required along with verifiable references. Candidates may have a broad range of experience, but it MUST pertain to the position you are applying for. We require at least 2-3 verifiable references. Letters of recommendation from previous employers are preferred.
A driver’s license is required for most positions and a motor vehicle investigation is completed prior to placement.
A criminal background investigation is completed on all candidates prior to placement.
All candidates must furnish proof of US citizenship or eligibility to work as a legal alien.
Typically, candidates must be willing to commit for at least 1 year with a family. Occasionally, temporary and summer placements are requested.
