Household Overview:
A high-net-worth family residing in a prestigious 6-story Townhouse on the Upper East Side is seeking a Full-Time Live-In Domestic Housekeeper or Domestic Couple. The family consists of a mother, father, and their 6-year-old daughter. The home is semi-formal, and the family also has additional residences in Orange County, NY (July) and Southampton, NY (August). The chosen candidate(s) will be joining an existing staff and will have the opportunity to travel with the family during the summer months. A car will be provided for work-related use.

Position Overview:
This is a live-in position with weekends spent at the UES townhouse during the summer. The regular work schedule is Monday to Friday, with occasional flexibility for weekends as needed. The ideal candidate(s) should have a minimum of 3 years of experience working as a private housekeeper for a high-net-worth family. Excellent communication skills, physical fitness, and a positive, proactive mindset are essential qualities. The candidate(s) must be able to work independently while also demonstrating a team mentality and flexibility.

Responsibilities:
– Perform general cleaning and organizing tasks throughout the residence, ensuring a clean and tidy environment.
– Conduct daily tidying and maintenance duties to uphold cleanliness standards.
– Manage laundry tasks, including washing, ironing, and organizing clothing and linens.
– Organize closets and home office spaces for efficient storage and functionality.
– Plan weekly menus, including grocery shopping and cooking meals for the family.
– Maintain inventory of household supplies, replenishing as necessary.
– Run errands, such as picking up dry cleaning or other items as needed.
– Provide pet care for two cats and potentially a small dog in the future.
– Oversee and manage the second housekeeper to ensure completion of assigned tasks.
– Occasionally serve dinner to the family.
– Provide occasional childcare support, including dinner and bedtime routines for the 6-year-old child.

Requirements:
– Minimum 3 years of experience as a private housekeeper for a high-net-worth family.
– Proficiency in English, including effective communication skills via text.
– Excellent listening skills, discretion, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
– Self-starter with physical fitness to comfortably navigate a 6-story townhouse.
– Positive thinker, proactive, observant, and able to work independently.
– Strong team mentality with the ability to adapt to changing needs.
– Must be Covid vaccinated.
– Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
– Checkable references from previous employers.
– Must pass stringent background checks, including criminal, financial, and driving records.

Living Arrangements:
The chosen live-in housekeeper or couple will have a private bedroom and bathroom on a separate floor of the UES townhouse. The living room and kitchen on that floor will be shared with two other 9-5 staff members during work hours only. For the summer months, the housekeeper(s) will have a studio apartment setup with a kitchenette in a separate guest house in Orange County, NY (4 weeks) and a private bedroom with a shared bathroom with the 6-year-old child in Southampton, NY (6 weeks). Note that the housekeeper(s) will return to the UES townhouse on weekends during the summer.

Salary and Benefits:
– Starting salary of $90,000 or higher, based on experience (DOE).
– Health insurance provided after 1 month of full-time employment.
