A busy and active professional couple in Chicago, Illinois (Gold Coast) is seeking a professional, experienced, and hard-working, full-time Housekeeper to join housekeeping team.

The successful candidate is: a highly organized self-starter with in-depth knowledge of household cleaning and solid experience in the upkeep of fine homes. The Housekeeper must be able to take initiative and work independently as well as work well with others. The current Senior Housekeeper will be overseeing and managing the Housekeeper. The ideal candidate will be one who pays great attention to detail and have thorough knowledge of household cleaning and maintenance processes, tools, and best practices. The candidate must be comfortable around one, 75 pound Golden Doodle dog. The Housekeeper will occasionally need to help with pet care.

This role will require the candidate to clean: 1) the client’s 8,700 square foot home in the Gold Coast (daily); 2) client’s art studio (ONLY twice a month); 3) client’s brother’s apartment (ONLY once a week) (all located nearby in the Chicago area; these tasks will be divided between the two housekeepers).
The Housekeeper must have at least 3-5 years related experience.

climbing stairs, etc.)
• Able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize to complete assignments in a timely
• MUST have a valid Driver’s License
• MUST be a team player with other staff members
• Household has a Covid-19 Vaccine mandate; all staff MUST be fully vaccinated

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to the following):
• Handle thorough daily housekeeping and periodic deep cleaning for Principal’s co-op apartment
• Knowledge of care and cleaning techniques for antiques, crystal, china, silver, brass, stone, marble, fabric/upholstery, artwork, and other specialty surfaces
• Laundering fine fabrics and clothing
• Organizational projects
• Running occasional errands when needed (will drive the family vehicle)
• Walking the family’s dog and managing the grooming & veterinary schedule
• Very infrequent travel with the Principals may be requested. (Travel pay structure will replace regular salary)
• Very infrequent overnights may be requested at main residence to ensure wellbeing of elderly Principal (Additional compensation)

This is a long-term, full-time, 5 days, 40 hours/week role.
Housekeeper Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm

Occasional overtime as needed (overtime paid at time & a half)

Housekeeper Salary: Commensurate with experience
• 2 Weeks Paid Vacation per year (1st week eligible after 6 months)

Required Qualifications

Candidates must be at least 21 years old.
Related work experience is required along with verifiable references. Candidates may have a broad range of experience, but it MUST pertain to the position you are applying for. We require at least 2-3 verifiable references. Letters of recommendation from previous employers are preferred.
A driver’s license is required for most positions and a motor vehicle investigation is completed prior to placement.
A criminal background investigation is completed on all candidates prior to placement.
All candidates must furnish proof of US citizenship or eligibility to work as a legal alien.
Typically, candidates must be willing to commit for at least 1 year with a family. Occasionally, temporary and summer placements are requested.
