A client family located in Springfield, with a bright and energetic two year old is seeking an educated, experienced, and professional Full-Time Family Assistant to help the mother in managing a busy household.

The typical schedule will be 4-5 days and approximately ~40-60 hours per week depending on family’s needs which may vary month to month. Both live-in and live-out candidates will be considered.

Live-in candidates will be provided with a large 2 room suite with private bath and kitchen and separate entrance in a spacious 12,000 sq ft home on 8 acres in the countryside. Use of the family cars will be provided for candidates without their own vehicle.

Candidates with at least two years of prior housekeeping, nanny or personal chef experience and strong references are preferred. No candidates with their own young children will be considered. The family will provide relocation assistance to those living outside the area. Start date is flexible for the right candidate, but the family would like to fill position ASAP.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist mother in fresh and healthy meal planning and preparation for family.
  • Pack and unpack children for trips and travel. Employee may occasionally be required to participate in domestic and international travel. At other times, if the family is vacationing, the person may be asked to housesit and care for a small dog and cat.
  • Assist with inventory checklists for household items, food, children’s essentials, etc.
  • Occasionally liaise with vendors and contractors.
  • Run errands (e.g. groceries, package drop-offs, trips to veterinarian, etc.).
  • Housekeeping including: dusting, vacuuming, window cleaning, laundry & organizing
  • Organizational projects (e.g., children’s bedrooms, playrooms (books, toys, crafts, etc.), closets, rotating clothes seasonally, getting rid of outgrown toys and clothing, taking things for donation, etc.)
  • Ensure pantry and fridges are properly stocked.
  • Plan and provide developmentally appropriate play-based learning and educational activities.
  • Apply knowledge about child development in the support and reinforcement of manners and other social skills.

Requirements:

  • 2-5+ years of full-time recent domestic experience working as a housekeeper/nanny/family assistant or chef
  • 3-4 verfiable employer references from household positions
  • Live in close proximity to the family’s residence in Springfield, MO OR willing to relocate to area (relocation assistance provided)
  • United States passport (preferred).
  • Ability to complete extensive background checks, motor vehicle checks and drug tests.
  • Driver’s license and clean driving record
  • CPR Certification
  • Vaccinations (e.g., COVID, MMR, TDap, Flu shot)
  • Comfortable with cats and dogs.

Compensation:

  • Highly competitive salary is depending on experience and qualifications.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must be at least 21 years old.
Related work experience is required along with verifiable references. Candidates may have a broad range of experience, but it MUST pertain to the position you are applying for. We require at least 2-3 verifiable references. Letters of recommendation from previous employers are preferred.
A driver’s license is required for most positions and a motor vehicle investigation is completed prior to placement.
A criminal background investigation is completed on all candidates prior to placement.
All candidates must furnish proof of US citizenship or eligibility to work as a legal alien.
Typically, candidates must be willing to commit for at least 1 year with a family. Occasionally, temporary and summer placements are requested.
