Clients located in New Orleans seeking Full Time Family Assistant. 

They have one 10-year-old son going into 5th grade this August. Both parents are professional musicians with sometime hectic schedules.

The ideal candidate is someone that enjoys wearing different hats because each day can be different. They will also be organized, proactive, experienced with school age children, have flexibility in schedule, able to travel nationally or internationally if needed and is a true team player! If  candidate speaks French or Spanish in addition to English it would be a plus, but not necessary. Must have an automobile, valid driver’s license and auto insurance.

Schedule:

The hours will be fluid anywhere between 4-10 hours per day depending on the parents schedule. Flexibility is key for this role. Every day can be different. Some days could even be 2 hours (if the family is traveling or wants privacy) and occasionally 10 hours (if there’s an event, the parents have guests in town or work late.)

Perk! The month of July the family will be gone and hours needed will be very limited. This month would involve “house sitting/organizing” on your own schedule. There is certainly time for some PTO and dates can be agreed upon.

Executive Assistant, House Cleaner(1x/week deep clean), Grounds Keeper (1x/week)

Pets:

One indoor/outdoor carefree and low maintenance Bengal cat & one Shiba Inu puppy. Dog trainer works with puppy weekly. Help with pets needed such as keeping track of & drop/collect puppy from vet or grooming appointments (5 min drive), assisting with medications, prepping bags for travel, dog walks as needed once older, etc. 

Main Duties: 

  • Organizing tasks in home as needed
  • Daily maintenance such as dishes, trash & pick-ups
  • Weekly laundry (a few loads but depends on schedule i.e. events or travel)
  • Bringing in mail & packages, send or return mail as needed
  • Drop off & collect items at dry cleaners as needed
  • Purchase house supplies like cleaning, maintenance & office supplies as needed
  • Purchase pet & child supplies like school uniform, birthday gift for son’s friends, etc.
  • Miscellaneous personal tasks like collecting medicine from pharmacy, collecting or dropping off a home item being repaired, etc.
  • Greet & let in service contractors & supervise as needed (AC repair for example) 
  • Help with packing & preparing family for travel 
  • Collect child from school & take to & collect from after-school activities (school is 5 min drive, same with most activities) 
  • Stay on top of the school emails & communication with teachers, calendar, homework, & prepare for any field trips or events, etc. 
  • Help with any “no school” days if the parents are working & unavailable 
  • Communicate with other parents or nannies for play dates or sleepovers & assist with pickup & drop offs
  • Occasionally stay overnight at home with son while parents are away for work as needed to conduct bedtime & ensure son’s normal routines continue
  • Occasionally may need to house sit (not necessarily sleep there) while family is away & you don’t travel with them (water plants, collect mail, etc.)
  • Communicate with Executive Assistant about schedule, updates or changes regarding owners, child, home & pets 
  • Keep necessary receipts & paperwork organized for purchases made or jobs completed
  • Email address & google calendar will be provided for communication & organization 

The starting salary range is $50-55k per year +bonuses including $350.00 per month non-taxed towards health insurance. PTO included. Other perks include phone bill & gas paid for. Seeking candidates with long term intent only

Required Qualifications

Candidates must be at least 21 years old.
Related work experience is required along with verifiable references. Candidates may have a broad range of experience, but it MUST pertain to the position you are applying for. We require at least 2-3 verifiable references. Letters of recommendation from previous employers are preferred.
A driver’s license is required for most positions and a motor vehicle investigation is completed prior to placement.
A criminal background investigation is completed on all candidates prior to placement.
All candidates must furnish proof of US citizenship or eligibility to work as a legal alien.
Typically, candidates must be willing to commit for at least 1 year with a family. Occasionally, temporary and summer placements are requested.
