Family Assistant/House Manager – Franklin, Tennessee

A single working mother residing in Franklin, TN is seeking a dedicated Family Assistant/House Manager to join her vibrant household. The family consists of three wonderful children aged 16, 11, and 8, who bring energy and joy to their home. The household is also home to Lucy, a friendly 2-year-old Microgoldendoodle. Two of the children have unique needs, one being high-functioning autistic and the other having a genetic disorder and being mostly non-verbal.

Job Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the smooth operation of the household while attending to the needs of the children. Key responsibilities include:

  • Keeping the house organized, tidy, and well-stocked
  • Planning and preparing healthy meals and snacks
  • Managing children’s laundry, including towels
  • Assisting with getting the children ready for school and unpacking after school
  • Running errands such as bank visits, post office trips, and grocery shopping
  • Providing support with transportation and coordination for the children’s activities
  • Taking care of the family dog, including walks
  • Assisting with family vacations on an occasional basis

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for this role will possess the following qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • Kind, compassionate, and organized nature
  • Self-starter with strong initiative
  • Creative problem solver
  • Willingness to assist and contribute in various household tasks
  • Previous experience with children with special needs is a plus
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Morning shift: 6:00 AM – 9:00 AM
  • Afternoon shift: 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM
  • Total of 8 hours per day, 5 days per week

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Competitive gross salary ranging from $56,000 to $67,000 based on experience
  • 5 paid sick/personal days
  • 5 paid vacation days
  • Paid holidays include Christmas eve, Christmas, New Year’s eve, New Year’s Day, and Thanksgiving
  • Monthly health and wellness stipend of $350.00 (tax-free)

The anticipated start date for this position is September 15, 2023.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must be at least 21 years old.
Related work experience is required along with verifiable references. Candidates may have a broad range of experience, but it MUST pertain to the position you are applying for. We require at least 2-3 verifiable references. Letters of recommendation from previous employers are preferred.
A driver’s license is required for most positions and a motor vehicle investigation is completed prior to placement.
A criminal background investigation is completed on all candidates prior to placement.
All candidates must furnish proof of US citizenship or eligibility to work as a legal alien.
Typically, candidates must be willing to commit for at least 1 year with a family. Occasionally, temporary and summer placements are requested.
